STAY AWAY FROM FAST FOOD!

Yes, it's easy. Yes, it's cheap. And no, getting a snack wrap or a "fresh salad" is not better for you than getting a Big Mac.  Of course, sometimes there's this craving that just won't go away without a burger and fries, but please, please, please, please, do not make fast food a food group for yourself.  You will regret it on all levels.. It makes you drowsy, the greese makes you feel like you're sweating oil, you're car smells of it and if that isn't disgusting enough... Yahoo! News has just reported that a 14-year old boy from Michigan bit into his sandwich and a finger was in it. Yes! A FINGER! The fast food business is so preoccupied on making money that the employee that cut their finger off was paid no attention and the rest of the staff proceeded to work. There is only one way to describe fast food, and that is, disgusting.

I've been hearing so much about coconut water, I've decided to try it. There are so many benefits from drinking the super healthy water so today I'm going to go to the store and find it.  I found an article on Yahoo! explaining why to drink it.  I don't love coconut but I tolerate it, so maybe this can help me grow to love it.

I have to admit, I am obsessed with SHAPE magazine. I stare at the delicious, healthy foods and think to myself, "Well if I had time and those ingredients, I would make this!" But we all know that we probably won't do that. And those work outs they give you to do while watching television, I try them once, but I find it much easier to just plant myself on the couch.  However, I'm on a mission to get fit, so I'm going to find some work outs that I find suitable for the average person just like me.

So obviously as I'm browsing through SHAPE's website I see an article titled, "The Real Secret to Skinny". Naturally I click on it, and find that it's actually useful.  It explains that if you can do 8-12 reps IN PROPER FORM ( I am extenuating the words "IN PROPER FORM" because if you aren't completing the exercises correctly, you're not going to see the results) then you should either increase the weight being lifted or slow down your reps and holding at the hardest part.

Sometimes I find myself just going through the motions at the gym and not actually feeling, "the burn". Next time I go, I'll be slowing down or stepping it up.

The dreaded word... Exercise.

We know we should, but it's just so much easier to sit on the couch and watch TV. Sometimes when watching your guiltiest pleasure, reality shows, we know we should get down on the floor and do some sit-ups or push-ups, but we just can't bring ourselves to do it.This shows you how to get started on your daily exercise routine and stick with it. You can also do these moves at home.. Which doesn't even require gathering the motivation to the gym!

Getting Started

Being healthy, looking and feeling good about yourself isn't about deprivation.. It's about subsitution and moderation. Of course, it's that simple... Right? But we all know how hard it is to resist the temptation that faces us around every corner.  Walking into a Dunkin' Donuts for a zero-calorie, 99 cent iced tea can turn into buying a delicious doughnut that leads to guilt and frustration. Avoiding the tempting places that display the most appetizing, yet most unhealthy foods, can be key in the quest to living well and healthy. By brewing your own tea in a pitcher and adding a lemon gives you the same tea you wanted before, for much less money and much less temptation.

On Monday, April 3rd, Yahoo helped out it's readers by substituting our most favorite foods with healthy alternatives.. without losing the taste. Try these at home recipes and see how they can work for you!

But remember, EVERYBODY has their "bad "days so it's nothing to beat yourself up about.
